BICAchair is a sustainable stackable steel armchair made for the outdoors from recycled and recyclable steel and finished with our premium selection of powder-coating colors, in this case in a texturized Deep Blue color, that transforms a Classic in something new and vibrant. The seat is made with FSC certified Brazilian Ipê Wood Slabs that are finished only with natural fruit-based oils. We call it Classic because it is more than a chair, it is a Classic with 70 years of experience and robustness. Born in the streets of Lisbon in the 1950`s the BICAchair has remained in the café culture of Lisbon and Portugal for a long time, but today it will be part of homes all over the world. With the Classic Collection we pause time, capture and embody the relaxed spirit of the street terraces and bring it to our homes with the ideal pretext to bring together friends and family. Street terraces are synonym to meeting places, where simple conversations turn into great moments and the BICAchair carries this spirit indoors. The Classic collection is specially prepared for the outdoors, using an environmentally friendly anti-corrosion treatment and finishing the woods in natural oils. ___ • 1.5mm steel structure tube frame structure • 100% FSC certified Ipê Wood Slats, from sustainable forests, finished with organic fruit-based oils • Stainless steel screw fixing • Recycled pcv terminals • Anti-corrosion treatment eco-friendly without the use of solvents or acids. • Thermoset finish 100% polyester Akzo-Nobel (Powder-coated) ___ A new chair with 70 years of history. Since its birth, in the 1950s, in Portugal, it has inspired a whole generation of young architects, designers and artists and, to this day, it is still considered the absolute terrace Queen, a part of our national identity. BICAchair has revived the history of the iconic Portuguese Chair, a symbol of national culture, that is now reborn, by the hands of Alexandre Caldas, with quality standards never achieved before, focusing on its design history and ensuring its legacy with an international ambition. With a modern twist, BICAchair reinvents the chair to live indoors, bringing the typical Portuguese spirit of well-being and getting together, into our homes, in a more intimate and personalized way. We believe that objects with a longer lifespan and well thought design, have a more positive environmental impact.
