About the Item
This refined set of four Model 45 armchairs is an authentic design by Alvar Aalto, produced by Artek, Finland, during the 1960s. Originally conceived in 1947, Model 45 stands as a quintessential expression of Aalto’s humanistic modernism and his pioneering role in shaping Scandinavian post-war furniture design.
The chairs feature Aalto’s signature use of bent laminated birch, with gently curved armrests seamlessly integrated into the architectural frame. The organically flowing wooden structure is complemented by woven linen webbing forming the seat and backrest, creating a visual balance between material warmth, structural clarity and functional comfort.

- Condition:Replacements made: Seat and back webbing professionally replaced using original Artek materials — clean, taut and free of discoloration. The set was acquired from a private collection and is in exceptional, very well-maintained condition. Overall, the chairs present in excellent restored condition, visually and functionally. Professionally polished wooden surfaces, original patina.
