About the Item

A handsome set of four French mid 19th century Louis XIII st. carved oak armchairs, signed Gillette, circa. 1840 . Each armchair is raised by turned legs joined by a curved X stretcher. The scrolled arms are richly detailed with carvings of acanthus leaves, below the high back. Upholstered and finished with brass nail heads. All original patina.
