Venice 19th Century Throne Chair attributed to Testolini Frères Venice ,Leather Upholstery, wax polished About Testolini Frères Venise Testolini Brothers saw its birth as a carpentry-cabinetmaking company; its owners were not ordinary personalities and immediately began to introduce new fashions in furnishings. The period chosen was not among the most propitious - shortly thereafter there would be the uprisings of 1848 and the famous revolt of Manin and the Republic of San Marco -, but the Testolini were not discouraged and serenely continued their production, seizing immediately the fresh artistic eclecticism that invaded the world from the mid-19th century, starting to conceive and produce original and imaginative models. Umbertine Style Furniture by Testolini Frères Venice Umbertine furniture is typically made with solid cherry, olive, oak and walnut wood. Walnut Armchair with Hand Carved Lion Head and Swan Sculptures as Armrests
Located in Lisse, NL
One of a kind and highly decorative Gothic chair from the late 1800s. If you are looking for unique and meaningful antiques to decorate your home then this sculptural and amazing workmanship chair could be perfect for you. All handcrafted in Europe in the late 1800s this striking chair is another perfect example of the highest level of workmanship that furniture makers and sculptors were combining in those days. This marvelous chair has everything that you want to see in antique and decorative art. The overall design is perfectly balanced and the frame of this chair is solely made out of a beautifully warm colored, solid walnut. Besides that this unique chair is as strong and stable as the day it was handcrafted and very comfortable to sit in. Both the beautiful walnut and the stunning antique fabric are in very good to excellent condition. However, what makes this antique chair a real masterpiece are the glorious animal carvings. Firstly, the good size lion head on the front rule comes with majestic manes and his eyes have a human-like quality to them. Secondly and most importantly are the amazing swan head and tail sculptures. Swan head sculptures in wood are extremely rare and to have found a chair with a pair of perfectly hand carved and mint condition swan heads (and necks) as armrests and with tails on either side of the backrest more than made our day. If you have a good eye for rare details then, we think, you will especially love the perfect nose holes, but also the hand carved wooden swan tail-ends. With swans symbolizing a number of great qualities and combined with the elements of water and air also being a symbol for eternal life and the circle of life, they embody a deeper meaning that makes this antique simply exquisite. Finally, the seat and back are upholstered with a finest quality and classical European antique fabric...

Pair Ebonized Italian 1890s Era Carved Gilded Dolphin Neoclassical Armchairs
Located in Swedesboro, NJ
This exceptional pair of Italian neoclassical armchairs, dating from the 1890s, showcases the refined artistry and bold decorative flourishes of late 19th-century craftsmanship. Each chair is ebonized to a deep, lustrous black, providing a dramatic contrast to the richly carved and gilded details. The standout feature is the magnificent dolphin motif: the gilded dolphin arms curve gracefully forward, their finely carved heads forming the armrests, while additional gilt accents highlight the neoclassical sensibility. The splat features mythological dolphin carvings framed with gilt decoration, reinforcing their commanding presence. Upholstered in a rich plum-toned velvet, the seats provide both comfort and an added layer of opulence. The combination of ebonized frames, gilt carvings, and jewel-like upholstery makes these armchairs versatile statement pieces. They fit effortlessly into traditional antique settings, elevate Hollywood Regency interiors with glamour and theatricality, and even contrast beautifully against streamlined mid-century modern design. Rare and dramatic, this pair of carved gilded dolphin armchairs...
