This chair is a work of art for those of us who spend our working time looking for unique pieces, it has exquisite William Morris style flat top arms, these offer a great deal more purchase when climbing out of the chair. It comes with the solid English brass castors both front and back, the frame is hand turned oak from the west country, this piece is honestly a pleasure to behold This chair is a transitional piece, its William IV in to early Victorian circa 1830-1840, if you think Gentleman's library from all of those wonderful period dramas you see on the television and you are on the right track As mentioned, the chair has been fully restored, almost all the leather is new premium Italian fully Aniline hide, its upholstered plain then hand dyed six times, antiqued, sealed waxed down and polished, this was the traditional method of dying leather in the early 19th century Dimensions Height:- 97cm Width:- 76cm Depth:- 74cm Seat height:- 48cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
