About the Item
French 19th-century boudoir chair with sculptural ‘teddy bear’ silhouette. Its generously rounded arms and softly enveloping profile give the piece its distinctive nickname, recalling the comfortable, overstuffed forms that became fashionable in late-19th-century French interiors.
The legs are elegantly turned sitting on brass castors. Graceful in scale and deeply comfortable, it works beautifully as an accent or bedroom chair.
Shown here in calico with an Ian Mankin striped ticking seat, the chair is structurally sound and ready for final upholstery in the fabric of your choice.
It requires 4m of fabric or 5.5m with a skirt.
