Brazilian Modern Armchairs in Hardwood Chenille by Joaquim Tenreiro 1958
Located in New York, NY
Available now, this Mid-Century Modern armchairs in hardwood chenille by Joaquim Tenreiro are gorgeous! These elegant low armchairs consist of a hardwood structure with re-upholstered loose cushions. Besides the small marks of time, the piece is in excellent condition. Also, very comfortable. Owning a piece designed by Joaquim Tenreiro is not just about acquiring a beautiful piece of furniture; it's also about possessing a part of Brazilian design history and culture. These set is a testament to Tenreiro's futuristic vision about Modernism and it would make an excellent addition to any interior space that values and appreciates the significance of this design. This model is called “L-shape” and is a great example of Tenreiro’s modernistic approach towards simplifying shapes, contrary to elaborate European standards, still in fashion during the fifties in Brazil. He achieves this by using rectangular shapes and no armrest...

Antique French Shearling Upholstered Armchair Completely Restored Old School
Located in Chicago, IL
Antique French Shearling Upholstered Armchair Completely Restored using Old School methods, which simply means we do not use foam rubber for padding and actually tie the coil springs by hand, However, this Antique French Armchair is so old that there is not a straight line in sight for everything is a bit askew. I would prefer to simply describe it as cattywampus. Apparently the internet defines it as "something askew, out of line, or in disarray". None of this bothers us and it comes with the territory of purchasing 200-year old French Armchairs, so we're used to it. Our French Antique Armchair was completely rebuilt from the frame up and is rock solid. The covering is genuine Sheep Shearling and we now typically stock several Antique chairs covered...

A sculptural hand carved one of collectible item by Finnish Matti Martikka. A chair made in solid pine from fallen tree trunks. This stump chair is acquired from a museum at his home town of Lappeenranta. This chair is usable, but a bit unstable and therefore more a piece of art.
