Pair of comfortable and original armchairs; the frame is very solid with wooden legs; the backrest is wide and enveloping, the seat feels wide and comfortable; the elegant legs with slightly oval section are tapered downward, they are an integral part of the whole design; very graceful and distinctive is the brass protection at the end of the two front legs; the armchairs are upholstered still with their original cotton velvet fabric in beautiful refined green color; the overall appearance is curvilinear with soft lines, perfect for conveying a feeling of comfort and well-being. The armchairs were created between 1950 and 1954 by master craftsmen from Milan who worked in collaboration with designer Gugliemo Ulrich on his important designs. Guglielmo Ulrich was born in Milan in 1904 to Alberto and Luisa Battaglia. Of the noble family of Danish origin, he attended the Academy of Brera and, after two years, in 1928 he graduated in architecture at the Politecnico di Milano. Architect, designer, interior decorator, and painter, Ulrich was one of the most interesting multifaceted artists of the last century who undoubtedly found his greatest expression in the world of design between the '40s and '70s of the twentieth century. What is striking about Ulrich's work is precisely his ability to combine innovation and the new identity of Italian design. A unique ability to create a link between tradition and innovation. The two skillfully and expertly constructed armchairs can give any room style and aesthetic personality, they have a personal and unrepeatable charm, they are a discreet and original piece of furniture, able to create calm and peaceful atmospheres, give romance and sophistication, in addition, the green color perfectly matches other colors and lends itself to different styles of homes, from traditional to modern. The armchairs are in good condition. Measurements width cm.56, depth cm.50, height cm.80, seat cm.38. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.

Very comfortable and elegant upholstered armchair; the frame is very solid with sturdy legs made of polished and brushed brass; the seat is deliberately low but large and comfortable; the wide overall appearance has soft and pleasing lines, perfect for conveying a feeling of comfort and well-being. The armchair was made between 1960 and 1963 by an artisan workshop in Meda (Milan, Italy) that collaborated with several Lombard architects; for the creation of the armchair, the artisans were inspired by architect Marco Zanuso, following his design. Marco Zanuso (1916-2001) was among the greatest interpreters of the culture of the modern, as an architect, designer, and university lecturer; he was one of the first designers to take an interest in the problems of product industrialization, going beyond the aesthetic question to incorporate technological, industrial, distribution and communication variables. The form of an object intended for serial reproduction, according to Zanuso, is thus a synthesis of opportunities, experimentation, and innovations located in the concrete process that links creativity, production, and sociocultural context. His countless creations include the Lady armchair, and the Antropus armchair...
