About the Item
This elegant mid-century armchair embodies the refined craftsmanship and organic lines characteristic of Scandinavian design in the 1950s–60s. Likely of Norwegian origin with clear Danish influence, it features a beautifully shaped solid wood frame with slender, tapered legs and gracefully curved armrests, both in teak, which flow seamlessly from the backrest. The chair requires reupholstery, although everything else, including the springs inside are in good shape and do not need to be restored.
Compact in scale with a low back and light proportions, it’s a versatile piece that fits effortlessly into various interiors. It works very well as an accent chair in a living space, a stylish hallway seat, or even as a bedroom chair. Despite its delicate appearance, the construction is firm, stable, and of high quality.
It is a timeless example of Nordic mid-century elegance, combining sculptural presence with everyday functionality. The chair remains in very good vintage condition, with an authentic patina that reflects its age and care.
