According to Jean-Michel Wilmotte, these are a very high-quality version made Mobilier International pieces, of which only a few examples exist.
A similar model is held in the collection of the Mobilier National in France.

Designed by world renowned French architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte for the office of the ambassador of France in Washington these armchairs are iconic pieces of the 1980s. This pair is definitely a highly collectible design piece.
