About the Item

A unique hourglass shaped Swedish Gustavian bench made by Stockholm master furniture maker, Johan Lindgren (active 1770-1800). His initials, ILG, can be found underneath. Frame is decorated with horizontal leaf cut. Above each leg, front and/or side edges meet in decorated cut fleurons. The leg tops are finished with over-collaring over fluted bases. This piece has been meticulously scraped to its original white paint and reupholstered in linen.
