About the Item

Place this refined antique banquette at the foot of a king-size bed or along a hallway wall for elegant, versatile seating. Crafted in France circa 1880, the piece is a classic example of Louis XVI style, standing on six fluted and tapered legs with carved acanthus leaves at the shoulders and rosette medallions at the corners. The apron features fluted detailing that reinforces its neoclassical character. At each end, the bench showcases gently curved raised sides adorned with carved spindles and diamond motif panels. Recently reupholstered in soft grey herringbone canvas, the seat is complemented by two matching bolster pillows for added comfort. The painted finish reveals a charming layered patina in tones of antique white and pale grey, contributing to its graceful, timeworn appeal.
