About the Item

Bring understated farmhouse character to a dining room or kitchen with this elegant antique bench, crafted in the Poitou region of France circa 1890. Hand-carved from solid cherry wood, the long single-plank seat features traditional mortise and tenon construction and rests on three angled octagonal legs joined by a central stretcher for added stability. The top reveals attractive grain patterns and gentle wear that highlight the bench’s rural French provenance, while the rich walnut-brown patina lends warmth and authenticity to the piece. In excellent condition commensurate with age and use, this versatile bench is ideal along a farmhouse dining table, in an entryway, or on a covered terrace where its provincial charm and craftsmanship can be fully appreciated.
