About the Item

A good antique French oak bench or pew, freshly professionally reupholstered with vintage 1960s "Chief Joseph" pattern wool fabric by Pendleton Woolen Mills, in the Henri II style, circa 1880. Each bench will easily accomodate three or posssibly four sitters, the frames are solid French oak, the high backs are fitted with three Pendleton panels both front and back. Below, each bench has a full length upholstered cushion also upholstered with Pendleton wool. At each end is an arm also with a Pendleton armrest cap, the arms are raised on turned supports and the bench is joined below with a 'H' frame stretcher. The oak frames have been lovingly waxed in Bloomsbury's professional workshops and have a rich golden honey patina. The upholstery has just been professionally upholstered by our upholstery partners "House of Vonne" and to a very high standard with 1960s vintage Pendleton wool, in the Chief Joseph Pattern. The benches are very robust and sturdy, they are comfortable and in excellent condition and are ready to grace you space. This listing is for one bench, but we do have three identical benches if you wished for more than one.
