About the Item
Ca. 18th century. An ample antique French vanity bench carved and gilt overall with a ribbed openwork shaped back frame and a cluster of carved roses on the crest. The wide shaped seat rail with a carved center motif, raised on cabriole front legs, each with a carved flower over a leaf, and square curved back legs. The seat is custom upholstered in a gray-blue tweed fabric.
Dimensions: 23" high x 27" wide x 17" deep x 20" high seat
Condition: Please review the detail photos. Various signs of age and wear include expected overall wear, losses and chips to the gilt finish, many scrapes to the legs. There are old repairs visible on the back of the openwork frame and open joinery at the top of the crest on the back.
