About the Item
An Italian carved and hand-painted cassapanca (chest bench) from the early 20th century. This antique bench from Italy has an elaborately carved shapely pediment-style back, a scalloped skirt, and is presented on four cabriole legs. The seat has a hinged lid opening to reveal shallow storage within. This piece retains its original hand-painted finish, adorned in floral and foliate motifs, with a landscape featured at center back. This early 20th century Italian cassapanca bench will make a wonderful focal point within a room without taking up too much space as it has a slender depth and is just shy of 3 feet in width.
