About the Item

This bench is made with Brazilian rosewood (also known as jacaranda), and it has a stunning tone with natural wood grain. In addition, the wood has been refinished and is now in excellent condition. The bench can fit 4 people comfortably and features a low seat with four legs. It has a very clean and sleek design to it, which makes it a perfect addition to any kind of home. This piece is very versatile and can be used as a bench but also as a coffee table, which is displayed in our showroom next to Liceu de Artes e Oficios sofa and armchair set and the convo looks fantastic. A piece like this will look awesome not only in a midcentury environment but in a french farmhouse, country or even modern home. About the designer: Joaquim Tenreiro was born in Portugal in 1906 but spent most of his life and career in Brazil, where he became one of the country's most celebrated furniture designers. He started his career as a cabinetmaker and set up his own furniture workshop in 1943. He quickly gained recognition for his innovative designs and his use of traditional Brazilian materials like cane and jacaranda wood. His work was heavily influenced by past furniture-making techniques and emphasized the importance of technical mastery, aesthetic experience, craftsmanship, and cultural context.
