About the Item
The latest addition to the Canela family, the three seated version of the 'Canela II' bench is faithful to the original mid-century modern design albeit in a more robust and imposing fashion, maintaining hints of Scandinavian minimalism whilst being produced with the same traditional craftmanship.
It is a complex piece with simple lines and full of subtlety. The backrest with brass details although low, supports the lumbar region providing adequate comfort.
Handmade using Brazilian hardwood Cumaru with details in Canela Preta and brass backrest.
Knót Artesanal is a minimalist furniture studio composed of Brazilian architect Renata Gutierrez and Scottish woodworker James Rowland. Specialising in handmade pieces created using traditional techniques and a modern design from their base in Paraty on the tropical 'Green Coast' of Brazil.

Knot Artesanal
Knót (ki-no-ti) is the meeting of design, beauty and simplicity hand crafted in solid hard-woods. It was formed between Brazilian architect Renata Gutierrez (nó) and British woodworker James Rowland (knot), both passionate about the forms, tones and textures of wood. Our focus is on simple lines, quality materials and natural finishes. All of our pieces are handmade using traditional woodworking methods to create timeless contemporary pieces that not only need to be seen but also felt. This takes place in Paraty Brazil, the city in which we chose to live and work, nestled between the rainforest and the ocean.
