late 19th century, cast with a pierced lily-pad design to the back and sides, centred with a mask, cast ‘C.B.DALE C No.195629’ and with registration lozenge, polychrome painted and with replaced wood slats, Design Name: Nasturtium Pattern Registration Number: 195629 Date Registered: 1 March 1866 Foundry: Coalbrookdale Iron Works, Shropshire This pattern was one of Coalbrookdale’s most elaborate and celebrated garden designs, appearing in their 1875 Castings Catalogue as design no. 44 87.5cm high 93cm wide 70cm deep
