About the Item
Contemporary single-leg bench upholstered in Sicilian water buffalo leather over a solid pinewood internal frame. Handcrafted with clean, minimalist lines, it offers warm tactility, natural grain variation, and a supportive sit, making it a refined, durable seating option for an entryway, living room, dressing room, or at the foot of a bed. Suitable for residential or boutique hospitality interiors, this collectible design pairs easily with neutral palettes and textured materials.
With "Bufala" bench the designer continues to work on the process of subverting the image and use of the material - in this case the leather - in the sense of producing shapes that are not its own. From this game, he proposes a reflection on the suitability of using materials from living beings. This piece, along with others, are forms and ideas that emerged in the process of creating the Mimesis collection and are now beginning to be developed.
BA in Industrial Design. In 1996 he founded Estudi Ribaudí, which specializes in product design, furniture and lighting. As an interior designer, he collaborates with well-known fashion brands.
In 2005, he started the restoration of a 19th century tannery, where he moved his studio and which in turn became an exhibition and promotion space for Igualada’s old industrial district.
Since 2009, he has been promoting REC.0, an innovative project to give visibility to architectural heritage through the temporary installation of “pop up” shops in abandoned tanneries.
He has exhibited his work, with Il·lacions Gallery in Design Miami 24, Collectible Fair 20, 21 and Madrid Design Festival 22.
