About the Item

Long, folding, painted hickory and bronze bench from the Staten Island Ferry. Featuring a narrow sturdy, Hickory seat with oxblood red paint and locking, salt water patinated bronze legs. Latches fold and lock legs. Bench folds flat. Used on the Staten Island from early 1900s through the early 1940s. Bench type also utilized by the US Navy. Rustic. Industrial. Rarity.
