Exquisite carving on this French walnut bench or ottoman, embodying the graceful elegance of the Louis XV style. Built from solid walnut, the frame features a gently curved silhouette with detailed carved floral and foliate motifs adorning all four sides of the scalloped apron, all over similarly carved cabriole legs with floral motifs, ending in delicate escargot feet. The walnut has acquired a warm, lustrous patina over time, accentuating the hand-carved details and natural beauty of the wood. This versatile bench is ideal at the foot of a bed, in an entryway, as seating in a dressing area, or as extra seating in a living room, easily tucked under a console or library table.
