Italian Louis XV Style Painted and Gilt Curved Bench, 19th Century An elegant Italian Louis XV style curved bench with beautifully carved cabriole legs joined by an undulating stretcher. The frame retains an aged painted and gilt finish, now showing a timeworn patina with layers of ochre, gilt, and exposed gesso that reveal its history and character. The scrolling legs and stretcher are enriched with delicate Rococo-inspired flourishes, giving the piece a graceful sense of movement.
