CAUV Design is a Custom Furniture Designer and Maker Studio run by Joseph Cauvel. Joe spent years crafting pieces and relationships in the Red Hook neighborhood of New York City in the Borough of Brooklyn. In the early spring of 2022 CAUV Design moved production to a beautiful property in the Sullivan County Catskills. We will not only continue to work on bespoke projects in and around the greater NYC area but also bring a fresh perspective from our Catskills Workshop. It is our pleasure to work with the clients that trust us with the creation of custom pieces for their spaces. We take great pride in the relationships we foster throughout the process with each and every client. His designs are primarily expressed in forms of metals, woods, and cementitious materials along with glass and stone at times. Joseph views furniture as interactive interior architecture for our everyday lives, and believes it should both function and inspire us at every angle. Beyond striving to utilize materials harvested with sustainable methods and sourcing many materials within his neighborhood or borough he also looks to give back when possible. A portion of every sale is put toward planting trees in our national forests to ensure a long lasting green space for future generations. All wood surfaces are finished in an all natural hard wax/oil manufactured in the USA and many other finishes are either low or zero VOC.
