About the Item

This elegant vintage bench was crafted in Italy circa 1970, and showcases refined craftsmanship in fruitwood construction. The rectangular seat is flanked by rolled armrests richly carved with acanthus leaf and foliate motifs, supported by fluted legs ending in bold paw feet. The base is united with carved stretchers adorned with floral rosette medallions, adding both strength and decorative appeal. The seat has been reupholstered with a colorful striped silk fabric in tones of blue and gold, secured with decorative nailhead trim along the edges. The rich walnut patina of the wood complements the vibrant upholstery, enhancing the bench’s classical character. Versatile in function, this petite seating piece would make a charming vanity chair in a master bathroom, serve beautifully as a piano bench, or provide stylish extra seating in a living room or study.
