About the Item

A beautifully refinished Mid-Century Modern slatted wood bench, circa 1960s. Expertly crafted with clean architectural lines, the design features rows of evenly spaced wooden slats resting on four tapered legs capped with brass sabots, recalling the refined aesthetic of George Nelson for Herman Miller. Finished in a satin black lacquer, this versatile piece works effortlessly as a bench, coffee table, or low console table. Its minimalist form and elegant proportions make it ideal for both residential and commercial interiors, balancing warmth and modernity with ease. The bench’s timeless Maruni-inspired silhouette offers an understated sophistication that complements a wide range of design styles, from Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian Modern, and Danish Modern, to contemporary, Postmodern, or transitional interiors. For a striking visual contrast, it also integrates beautifully into traditional, classical, or Art Deco environments. Perfect for use in a living room, entryway, or bedroom, this piece would also serve beautifully in a hotel lobby, members club, or creative studio, where form and function meet in equal measure. MEASUREMENTS: H 13.5" x W 60" x D 17.25" CONDITION: Fully refinished and ready to be used immediately. Some signs of light age and prior use, such as minor indentations, barely visible underneath the refinish (as to be expected). Brass sabots and cross-bars were gently hand polished but exhibit light patina and age.
