Rare Gothic bench with top quality carved, church letter panel and more.
This beautifully hand carved, oak church bench from the early 1900s is in amazing condition. It comes with top quality carved details including the hand carved quatrefoil elements on the two sides. The meaningful quatrefoil is a Gothic symbol for the four gospels, but it also is an ancient symbol for good luck. The combination of the stylish and open design and the perfectly hand carved, folded bible page panel in the middle make this practical size bench the perfect Gothic Revival antique. The hand carved flowery rosettes inside the stylized everlasting symbols makes this strong and stable bench even more special and you could not wish for a more attractive patina. This handcrafted and very practical size bench can be used in a private home, but it will also look marvelous in the entrance of a church or monastery. Its marvelous look and feel will immediately change the atmosphere of the space it is in and it will lift your spirit every time you look at it. This handcrafted bench is not veneered and no other woods were used but beautiful and solid oak. Finally, this work of beauty was made just like it would have been in mediëval times. This bench (both on the front and back) is in perfect condition.
