About the Item

A wonderful piece of furniture by famous Dutch artist Kobus de Graaff (1967-1936). De Graaff worked in ‘t Gooi and Amsterdam as an artist, furniture maker and sculptor. He also did ceramics and specialized in carving bronze and wooden figures such as the rams and parrots on this bench. It is a truly rare and special item. Made circa 1900s in Arts Craft Art Nouveau style. Executed in solid oak. The hand carved rams, cherries and parrots are remarkable. Unfortunately, see detail photo, a small piece of the parrot’s top on the right has been damaged. The rest of the bench is consistent with age.
