About the Item

Rare set of 4 benches with chest-shaped seats in painted chestwood (chestnut tree ). Typical of Italian craftsmanship, these "cassapanche" benches were found in the entrance halls of castles and grand residences, as was the case with this set. The benches are painted in various shades of gray, enhanced by a decoration of garlands of yellow-gold leaves, some more visible than others. The benches are sold as is, with wear and some missing pieces. Total height 161cm, dimensions 190 x 45cm
