We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning very large George II style solid hand carved walnut breakfront window seat with claw and ball feet This bench was sold in Christie's London South Kensington in 2012 This piece is an interior designers dream, we are always on the lookout for signature seating that doesn’t take up a lot of space but commands attention, this window seat has it in spades. Its breakfront which is very rare, the legs are ornately hand carved from solid walnut, ebonised black and finished with the traditional claw and ball. The upholstery is damask and in fine order throughout The condition is good and used, the upholstery is in good order, it does have some light tiny little paint spots in one place but very hard to see, its secured in place with a double line of hand antiqued studding, the timber has a good worn patina, we will fit a new hessian base cover prior to dispatch and the one currently fitted is a little worn Dimensions Height 50 cm Width 155 cm Depth 43 cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
