The three-seat bench from the Disguise Series 00 collection, created by Madrid-based ESTO Studio, is conceived as a sculptural piece that blurs the boundaries between furniture and fiction.
Featuring a curved tubular steel structure and a hand-sewn textile cover, each piece possesses an ambiguous presence, both familiar and strange, warm and challenging. The pointed, organic forms of the upholstery evoke natural morphogenetic processes, where subtle variations generate living patterns.
Through this body of work, ESTO Studio explores the notion of disguise as transformation, granting each object a hybrid identity that oscillates between function and creature. The act of dressing each structure becomes a ritual, a poetic gesture that turns the everyday into the extraordinary.
Handcrafted in the studio’s Madrid workshop, the pieces from Disguise Series 00 inhabit space as a family of singular beings, each with its own formal and emotional language.
