About the Item

An elegant pair of Empire/Biedermeier bergères crafted from solid beech wood in the early 19th century. Both chairs have been fully restored, hand-polished, and newly upholstered with high-quality fabric. The loose seat cushions provide comfort while preserving the authenticity of the original design. The closed side panels, typical of bergères, are adorned with finely carved dolphin heads and a stylized tail fin – a decorative detail that reflects the neoclassical influence of the Empire period while anticipating the refined simplicity of Biedermeier design. With their balanced proportions, warm wood tone, and fresh upholstery, these bergères combine historical craftsmanship with timeless elegance, making them a distinctive addition to both classic and modern interiors. Condition: Excellent restored condition, ready for immediate use .
