Antique French Louis XVI Painted Bergere ~ Armchair exudes classic style, creating a timeless effect that will work with both casual and formal decors and provide enjoyment for decades to come! The canted, rectangular seat back is generously sized to complement the wide seat below, framed with two subtly scrolled armrests that are fully upholstered on the sides and on the armrest pads, enveloping one in comfort. The original concept behind such a chair was to stop drafts and provide comfort during cooler months, but the design has proven to be a winner year round ever since! The subtle carved accents include bold molding, rosettes, and tapered
fluted legs, all enhanced by the patinaed painted finish. Upholstery is a high quality linen fabric in an incredibly neutral color designed to provide year after year of enjoyment. The bergere is finished all around so it's perfect to "float" in the room, and will soon become one of your most favorite places to sit!
