About the Item
An elegant pair of antique Louis XV upholstered arm chairs. Freshly upholstered in a black velvet with nailhead trim bordering the edges and the frames refinished in a dark walnut finish. The chairs feature a simple curved crest rail, upholstered scoop back and side panels flanking carved wooden armrests padded elbow rests. Each fitted with a loose tailored seat cushion, piped in dark taupe leatherette. Each chair rises on curved cabriole style legs terminating on whorl feet. There are no visible maker’s marks. Designed for the utmost in comfort and relaxation, elegantly curved Silhouette typical of the Louis XV style, this set of restored French bergère chairs will bring a distinguished presence to any living room or bedroom.
