About the Item

This pair of French Louis XVI-style bergeres are in wonderful condition for their 19th century age. The sheltering, wing-back style frames hand carved with a twisted ribbon border, acanthus leaf arms, and retain their original painted finish. Upholstered in an elegant striped floral fabric of classic Marie Antoinette influence, with a removable seat cushion and little manchette pads on the arms. These sturdy chairs achieve a sense of lightness from fluted, tapering legs. Seat height is 20”. Sold as a pair only.
