Hand carved Louis XVI bergère armchair from France, upholstered in vintage fabric. This 18th century French armchair is hand carved in fruitwood (probably walnut) circa 1775-1795 with remnants of darkened gilt and gesso.

Regional differences in humidity and climate during shipping may cause antique and vintage wood to shrink and/or split along its grain, veneer to loosen and/or peel, and painted finishes and gilt to crack and flake.
