About the Item
Pair 19th century French Louis XV - Regence armchairs ~ Bergeres are an incredibly stylish way to add comfortable seating to your favorite room! Upholstered in a very high-quality tapestry fabric, each was sculpted from fine French walnut, and features not a single straight line in the entire framework! The double arched seat back crown is centered with a charming cherub's face with asymmetrical wing surround, with the scrolls cascading down to the corners topped with foliate flourishes. The finely contoured sides create a wraparound "wingback" effect, enveloping one in comfort, with acanthus plumes carved into the armrest tips. The undulating framework below includes subtle stylized shell carvings, with four boldly scrolled cabriole legs providing support, each embellished with carved detail and escargot feet. Upholstered fully on the back side, they're perfect for placement anywhere in the room!
