About the Item
The Bergeres each featuring an arched-profile back, with shaped top-rail in scroll design. the uprights flanking an cushioned back-rest, and curving inwards to merge with the apron.
The seat flanked by a pair of turned 'gun-barrel' arms, with square supports in tapering form, extend past the seat apron to serve as front legs.
Reference: "The Antiques Directory: Furniture" by J. Miller M. Miller, pg. 475, example E7 for a Fauteuil with similar arms, tapering legs, and convex-shaped back.
