About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely pair of original circa 1810-1820 Regency bergere ebonised with mother of pearl inlay side chairs and matching tray table A very good looking well made and decorative suite. In truth, they rarely come up for sale in pairs, they usually turn up as singles and are rare survivors. This set has lovely mother of pearl inlay, some great gold leaf painting and the original ebonised finish. The seats are early rattan, three are still tight, one has some sagging with age in the middle as you can see in the picture. The tray table has lovely carved legs Condition wise is period correct, there are some light age and use related patina marks here and there as you would expect, they are just over 200 years old Chairs dimensions Height:- 84.5cm Width:- 42cm Depth:- 43cm Seat height:- 52.5cm Table dimensions Height:- 49.5cm Width:- 62cm Depth:- 48.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
