A very Fine pair of french 19th century Louis XV style giltwood carved marquises bergère armchairs. The ornately carved gilded frames with floral and acanthus motifs with rounded edges, padded upholstered sides and armrests, on four cabriolet legs conjoined by an "X" stretcher. All gilding original, upholstered in a burgundy damask, Paris, circa 1890-1900.
