About the Item
A beautiful pair of 19th century Louis XV Bergeres upholstered in Leather and woven grasscloth. The painted surfaces have quite a few layers of chippy paint, which looks wonderful. The nailhead detail is nice. The leather is in excellent condition. These were redone in the 1980’s. Some minor blemishes to the back of one chair, and some minor damage to the grass cloth back of one chair, pictured. There are 4 of these chairs available as a suite if desired. The other two are listed separately on this site, please feel to contact us for details.
These chairs were originally purchased in 1983 for $2150 each. Quite a large sum of money at the time. A copy of the original receipt is attached form the interior design firm.
