About the Item
Elegant pair of Louis XVI–style ebonized bergères dating to the first half of the 20th century. Each chair features a finely channeled wooden frame, finished in a deep ebonized surface, with gently curved backs and padded arms in the classic bergère form. The chairs are raised on tapering fluted legs topped with carved rosette blocks, reinforcing their neoclassical inspiration.
The seats, backs, and arms are upholstered in a richly patterned green striped silk textile, woven with alternating bands of foliate and geometric motifs, providing a lively contrast to the dark frames. The upholstery is finished with decorative braid trim, consistent with traditional French workshop practice. Well-proportioned and comfortable, these bergères are ideally suited for a living room, library, or bedroom seating arrangement. Unmarked.

Condition:
Good overall condition. Minor wear to the ebonized frames; separation to trim on the side of one chair; wear, light fading, and minor marks to the silk upholstery consistent with age and use. Structurally sound and presenting attractively.
