About the Item

Pair of Mahogany Bergère Armchairs, Classical / Empire Style, Early 19th Century A refined pair of bergère armchairs crafted from solid mahogany, representing fine European cabinetmaking of the early 19th century. The chairs display harmonious proportions and an elegant, architectural form typical of the Classical and early Empire period. The mahogany frames have been professionally restored and finished with traditional French polish, enhancing the depth of colour and the natural grain of the wood. Delicately hand-carved details to the arm supports add refinement and underline the quality of craftsmanship. The upholstery has been fully restored, preserving the classical character of the armchairs. The black fabric with a subtle vertical stripe creates a sophisticated contrast with the warm tone of the mahogany. The seats are comfortable and supportive, making the chairs both decorative and functional. The pair is in very good condition, structurally sound and ready for use. Ideal for a living room, study or library, they would also work beautifully in a formal salon or elegant bedroom interior.
