Exceptional find: a cohesive lot of more than 100 original Roland Rainer stacking chairs (c. 1952), designed for the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna. This iconic model embodies a streamlined, lightweight silhouette, making early use of bent-plywood technology, conceived for variability and efficiency in public architecture.
The beautiful back–seat angle is purpose-shaped for bent plywood and is surprisingly comfortable. The distinctive, angular wooden A-frame contrasts elegantly with the gently curved shell—a timeless combination that makes a statement in interiors as well as hospitality/event settings.
