This Antique armchair is FIERCELY FABULOUS!!! This is a phenomenal Antique armchair comprised of an exquisite mahogany frame bearing a fearless pair of hand carved figural lion heads down both arm fronts and epochal hand carved lion claw feet. It has a substantial size and wears a gorgeous golden yellow velvet fabric with gimp trim and a button tufted seat back and although we believe it has been reupholstered in its life…it was very early on. The fabric is definitely vintage and although it has been professionally cleaned, it has a few stubborn stains, and some may wish to reupholster. But think of the fabulous fabric options that would only complement the beauty of this masterpiece!! Limitless possibilities!!! And the velvet on the back is in awesome condition so maybe just upholster the seat in a great contrast fabric. The under seat is sprung with Jute webbing and has coil springs creating supreme comfort. It has an impressive throne-like presence and a Victorian style sure to make a bold statement in any room you choose. In a corner of your bedroom, in the study facing the fireplace, or in your sitting room next to a marvelous accent table. Lions have been associated with royalty and valor for centuries… A symbol of strength and courage… King of the jungle and held in awe by humankind. What an incredible aura to bring into your home! Do it, make it YOURS!!!

ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY KING AND QUEEN!!!! Talk about ABSOLUTE Royalty!!! This is a glorious pair of Gothic Revival Ecclesiastical His & Hers Throne chairs comprised of hand carved oak frames bearing engraved Gothic details, designs, and cutouts including a transcendent triple finial high back presentation worthy of nobility. Each peak is hand carved with designs resembling oak leaves and they have been intricately dyed black… they’re nothing short of fabulous. Because of the maturity of these chairs, we believe that they were probably reupholstered at some point in their lives, and they look marvelous!! They are wearing a beautiful bright cardinal red hopsacking fabric trimmed with gimp and nail head details on the seats and back inserts which also have upholstered backs. The King chair has fabric surrounding the arm rests while the Queen chair has no arms, however it does have attractive side braces. Both thrones have lovely hand carved decorative front aprons with black detail and stand proudly upon turned front legs with black dyed rings & details on casters and square straight slightly curved back legs… I mean, WOW!!!! They’re definitely Ecclesiastical and Gothic Revival but they bear a bit of East Lake Victorian style as well and they are SURE to be quite the conversation piece in your home! They would be fabulous used as host & hostess chairs at your dining table, in a conversation or waiting area, in a home library, at a his & hers dressing area, or facing the fireplace in your den or study. Wherever you choose to use these unsurpassable chairs of distinction, they are sure to make you feel like wearing a crown and being addressed as “Your Majesty...

Walnut Armchair with Hand Carved Lion Head and Swan Sculptures as Armrests
Located in Lisse, NL
One of a kind and highly decorative Gothic chair from the late 1800s.
If you are looking for unique and meaningful antiques to decorate your home then this sculptural and amazing workmanship chair could be perfect for you. All handcrafted in Europe in the late 1800s this striking chair is another perfect example of the highest level of workmanship that furniture makers and sculptors were combining in those days. This marvelous chair has everything that you want to see in antique and decorative art. The overall design is perfectly balanced and the frame of this chair is solely made out of a beautifully warm colored, solid walnut. Besides that this unique chair is as strong and stable as the day it was handcrafted and very comfortable to sit in. Both the beautiful walnut and the stunning antique fabric are in very good to excellent condition. However, what makes this antique chair a real masterpiece are the glorious animal carvings. Firstly, the good size lion head on the front rule comes with majestic manes and his eyes have a human-like quality to them. Secondly and most importantly are the amazing swan head and tail sculptures. Swan head sculptures in wood are extremely rare and to have found a chair with a pair of perfectly hand carved and mint condition swan heads (and necks) as armrests and with tails on either side of the backrest more than made our day. If you have a good eye for rare details then, we think, you will especially love the perfect nose holes, but also the hand carved wooden swan tail-ends. With swans symbolizing a number of great qualities and combined with the elements of water and air also being a symbol for eternal life and the circle of life, they embody a deeper meaning that makes this antique simply exquisite. Finally, the seat and back are upholstered with a finest quality and classical European antique fabric...
