About the Item

Elegant pair of hand-carved Swedish Baroque chairs. Crafted in gilt and polychrome wood, the chairs feature a vase-shaped splat crowned with a carved shell or fan crest — a refined example of the transition from Baroque to early Rococo in Scandinavian design. The cabriole legs end in paw feet and are joined by turned stretchers, combining grace with structural solidity. The original leather upholstery shows a beautiful, time-worn patina that enhances the authenticity and charm of these pieces. With their sculptural presence and aged gilding, these chairs make perfect statement accents for both classical and eclectic interiors.
