1960's French Baumann Upholstered Bentwood Mondor Dining Chair - Large Quantities Available. Classic beech bistro chair made in France by the maker Baumann. Baumann is a slightly off the radar French producer just starting to gain traction in the market. Baumann was founded in 1901, by Swiss man Emile Baumann, in Colombier Fontaine, France. Baumann started producing a simple child's chair but grew rapidly to be a large bentwood producer with showrooms all over France. In our view the chairs of the 50's and 60' are their best, beautifully made and designed. The Mondor is a beautiful model, unusual in this mid walnut colour, which actually has an unusual faux grain finish with the original upholstered seats . We have cleaned them, that's all. Stunning original patina. We service and wax each chair before they leave our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality. Seat Height 46cm.

Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
