About the Item

This chair was designed by the Italian sculptor Urano Palma (1936–2010). It is constructed from bent and perforated sheet steel with a smooth, semi-gloss dark green enamel finish. The chair's high back and a geometric, box-like structure is made from folded steel sheets with a consistent grid of circular perforations throughout the seat, back, and sides. - The construction uses welded joints to create a rigid, continuous form without visible fasteners. Designer: Urano Palma (1936–2010) Origin: Italy Period: Circa 1970s/1980s Materials: Perforated steel, enamel Condition: The structure is solid. There is visible surface wear and patination commensurate with age, including chipping to the enamel along the sharp edges and corners, which reveals the raw steel beneath (as detailed in the images).
