Closely comparable in construction and profile to documented Hitchcock-style examples, these chairs exhibit balanced proportions, restrained ornamentation, and practical craftsmanship suited for everyday dining use.
The chairs are constructed from solid hardwood, likely maple or a similar domestic wood, finished in a warm brown tone with a well-preserved, even patina throughout. Each chair features turned and tapered legs connected by stretchers, offering both visual rhythm and structural stability. The backs are defined by broad crest rails and horizontal splats supported by turned uprights, a classic design vocabulary associated with Hitchcock-style seating.
All eight chairs retain their original hand-woven cane seats, executed in a traditional geometric pattern.
