Exceptional Set of Five Viennese Biedermeier Walnut Chairs, circa 1820–1825
This exceptional set of five early Viennese Biedermeier chairs, dating to circa 1820–1825, represents the very finest qualities of the period. With their refined proportions, elegant restraint, and innovative design, these chairs exemplify the highest level of Viennese craftsmanship from the golden age of Biedermeier.
Executed in beautifully figured walnut veneer, the chairs are finished with a rich, deep amber French polish applied using original traditional techniques, enhancing the natural grain and highlighting over 200 years of authentic patina. The result is a warm, luminous surface that can only be achieved through age, careful preservation, and historically accurate craftsmanship.
The chairs are in very good condition, structurally sound and carefully preserved, retaining their original character and exceptional quality of finish.
